The Crisis Intervener’s Pledge
As a Crisis Intervener, I pledge:
- To myself, and
- To others,
- To develop my skills in Crisis Intervention;
- To maintain those skills through continuing education;
- To demonstrate the standard of care afforded by my training and skills;
- To seek additional professional assistance when care is required in excess of my level of training;
- To refer for, and to act as a bridge to, advanced care, as needed;
- To prevent crises when possible;
- To assist other Crisis Interveners when practical to do so;
- To provide care to my fellow interveners when possible and as needed;
- To respect the wishes of those not desiring my intervention services;
- To be available to those whom I serve.
To these things, I pledge as a Certified Crisis Intervener.
